Sussex Direct Cremation is a service provided by Wealden Funeral Services Ltd. We are the same family team in Heathfield, providing the same unattended direct cremation service.
You can speak directly with the people caring for your loved one. We explain the arrangements clearly and give you time to ask questions.

Sussex Direct Cremation is provided by Wealden Funeral Services Ltd, an independent, family-owned funeral director. There is no separate SDC team or national call centre between you and the people making the arrangements.
Our family brings over 20 years’ experience in funeral care. We listen to your wishes, explain what needs deciding now and help you take the next steps at your own pace.
Leaving the light on
We believe small gestures can carry great meaning. When someone is in our care, we leave a light on as a quiet sign that they are not alone.
We keep you informed and welcome your questions about where your loved one will be and how they will be cared for.
A goodbye before the cremation
If you would like time with your loved one beforehand, there are two alternative additions to the £1,645 direct cremation:
- Private chapel visit — +£100: a short, private goodbye for immediate next of kin, without a formal service.
- Attended Direct Cremation — +£395: a ceremony in our private Heathfield chapel for up to 20 people. A celebrant for the chapel ceremony is optional at +£250, only with this choice.
The cremation itself remains unattended with either choice. The private visit and chapel ceremony are alternatives.
