Direct cremation does not include attendance at the crematorium, but you can choose a private visit or spend time together in our chapel beforehand. These are alternative additions to the £1,645 base service.
Private chapel visit — +£100
A short private visit for immediate next of kin to see the person who has died and say goodbye, with your loved one dressed in their own clothes. It is not a formal funeral service, and the cremation remains unattended.
Visits are during office opening hours, with other times by appointment.

A small ceremony in our private Heathfield chapel for up to 20 people, before the person who has died proceeds to an unattended cremation. The ceremony is in the chapel; family and friends do not attend the crematorium.
Celebrant for the chapel ceremony — +£250
If you would like a more formal chapel service, a celebrant can conduct the ceremony. This addition is available only with Attended Direct Cremation.

- A simple coffin suitable for cremation
- Transport to the crematorium in a traditional hearse, with a recording of the hearse arriving at the crematorium
- Cremation at a local crematorium, including the cremation fee
- Return of ashes in a suitable container
- All necessary legal paperwork and cremation documentation

The cremation arrangements
Our family team cares for your loved one locally and handles the necessary arrangements and paperwork. A simple coffin suitable for cremation is included.
The unattended cremation takes place at a local crematorium, at a date and time allocated by the crematorium. We will explain the arrangements to you.
Your loved one travels in a traditional hearse. We provide a recording of the hearse arriving at the crematorium.
After the cremation
We aim to return ashes in a suitable container within 5 working days after the cremation. We will contact you and agree the collection or return arrangements; please ask us about any particular wishes.
What is not included
- A funeral service, officiant or mourners attending the crematorium
- A formal ceremony or procession of mourners
- Embalming or viewing as part of the base service
- A decorative ashes casket or keepsake
The optional chapel choices are described above. Keepsakes and a separate memorial can be discussed if you wish.
